The Winchester Mountaineers knocked off the Rohnert Park Cougars, 4-1, in Eastern AA action at Ballpark of Greenup. Winchester pitcher and Paradise, Nevada, native Jerome Abney had an outstanding performance. The hot start continues for the defending champion Mountaineers. This was their 13th win in 16 games.

Alex Natera, who is tied for 9th in the E-AA in runs scored with 12, had a direct impact on the outcome. Natera contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Winchester up, 3-1.

Abney called the win "a team effort."
