Corpus Christi 12-4 After 8-4 Win Over Boise
The Boise Dread Kings got a superb performance from pitcher Adam Matthews, but the Corpus Christi Mermen still won the game, 8-4. Matthews threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Sean Gary picked up the win in relief for Corpus Christi, while Adam Matthews took the loss. The Mermen, at 12-4, have a record worth crowing about.

The Mermen got a big hit from catcher Brent Haynes. Facing Boise pitcher Steve Wright in the bottom of the eighth, Haynes pounded a 3-run home run to right. His 1st home run of the season put the Mermen ahead, 8-0.

"They had a good approach," Boise skipper Sean Drummond said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
