Cougars Suffer 5-2 Setback
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 19-year old designated hitter Nelson Ziersch, the Winchester Mountaineers stopped the Rohnert Park Cougars, 5-2, in 9 innings. Dusty Nelson recorded the save for Winchester, his 3rd of the season. The Mountaineers, now 12-3, have played inspired baseball.

Ziersch contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Winchester in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Ziersch took a fastball from Chris Zuniga and stroked the home run to right-center. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Mountaineers to leap in front, 3-2.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ziersch.
