Millionaires Dealt 7-2 Home Loss

The skies opened up and the rain fell at Alcoa Grounds.
The Winchester Mountaineers defeated the Alcoa Millionaires, 7-2. Doing his part was designated hitter Gregg Dier, who went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Chris Phillips, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 2 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 1-1.
With Winchester leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Dier hit a curveball from Jason Wittmann for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Mountaineers ahead, 3-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Dier.
The Mountaineers, now 11-4, have been red hot.
