Late Rally Earns Encinitas 5-2 Win
|
The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers faced a tough opponent in Riverside pitcher Ryan Butler, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Rotters Ballpark by a final score of 5-2. Butler went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Encinitas reliever Vinny Luna got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Josh Carlson was tagged with the loss. The triumph makes Encinitas 8-6, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2026.
Encinitas took advantage of an error in the top of the ninth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Danny Lucena hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Eskimo Brothers in front, 4-2.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Riverside manager Adrian Mercado.
