Wildthings Pick Up 3-1 Road Win Over Traverse City
|
The Washington Wildthings had to overcome a good performance from Traverse City pitcher Jason Casale to claim a 3-1 win at Greensboro Grounds. Casale went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Terence Beggs got credit for the win, improving to 1-5. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The Wildthings, with only their 3rd win in 14 games, have not had much to write home about in 2026.
Jim Unknown had a direct impact on the outcome. Unknown contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Washington up, 2-0.
"Watch and learn," said Unknown. "This is what good pitching looks like."
