Chiefs Lose By a Run at Rohnert Park
Though he had a stellar game, Branden Barr could not prevent his team, the Mescalero Chiefs, from losing, 7-6, to the Rohnert Park Cougars. Barr hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Vince Zamora earned the save for Rohnert Park, his 1st. The win gives Rohnert Park a record of 6-7.

David Pierce drove in one run for Rohnert Park. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Pierce, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Mescalero hurler Chris Hall, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Cougars a 7-6 lead.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Pierce told the Rohnert Park Citizen.
