A 4-RBI performance from the 23-year old third baseman Dean Hostetler helped the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers beat the Corpus Christi Mermen, 8-5. Encinitas reliever Matthew Gayheart picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Sean Gary absorbed the loss. The win takes Encinitas to 5-5.

The Eskimo Brothers got a big hit from second baseman Alex Melo. Facing Corpus Christi pitcher Sean Gary in the bottom of the seventh, Melo pounded a run-scoring double to center. His 6th double of the season put the Eskimo Brothers ahead, 6-5.

"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Corpus Christi skipper Arturo Colon said.
