Alcoa Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Torres
Alcoa got a terrific game from first baseman Alex Torres. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Rohnert Park, 13-6. Torres belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Mike Garcia. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 1.1 innings. The loss puts Alcoa at 3-6.

Rohnert Park needed the clutch hitting of Jason Clare to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cougars on top, 7-5. For the game, Clare had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
