The Aurora Suns picked up a win at Alcoa Grounds, knocking off the Alcoa Millionaires, 5-0. On the mound for Aurora was left-hander Gil Backos. He played a key role in the triumph. With the win, Aurora boosts its record to 5-3.

Aurora used the clutch hitting of Victor Vanegas to snag the win. The shortstop drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Suns ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Vanegas. "You've got to get results."
