Mermen Stumble, Lose 5-1 to Dread Kings
|
Pitcher Adam Matthews was sensational for the Boise Dread Kings in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Corpus Christi Mermen. Matthews earned the win. Matthews, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. The win gives Boise a record of 4-3.
The Dread Kings got a big at-bat from left fielder Tanner Brown. For the game, Brown went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Boise a 3-0 lead.
"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Brown.
