Running Rebels Shut Out Millionaires, 8-0
|
The Fresno Running Rebels downed the Alcoa Millionaires, 8-0, at Alcoa Grounds. Stellar pitching by Scott Clary had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Clary yielded no runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. The loss makes Alcoa 1-1.
Fresno won the game in part because of Dustin Roachell. The third baseman ripped a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Running Rebels ahead, 6-0. For the game, Roachell had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Not one of our better nights," said Alcoa skipper Victor Gonzalez.
