San Diego Slaps 2-1 Loss on Boston
|
Conditions were not ideal but San Diego and Boston were able to put their game in the books.
In a low-scoring contest, San Diego pitcher Takeji Takano was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Takano yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-0.
Dale Day cracked a home run off Joe Schroeder in the top of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Fleet on top, 2-1. In all, Day had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Day.
The Whistlers fall to 9-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2026 season.
