Ted Kelly pitched well, but his team, the Mescalero Chiefs, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Corpus Christi Mermen at Chiefs Ballpark. Sean Gary, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. Brian Finkel earned the save for Corpus Christi, his 1st.
Jack Feeler had a direct impact on the outcome. Feeler contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Corpus Christi up, 4-1.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Feeler.
Corpus Christi, with the win, is 3-0.
