Fans of the Boise Dread Kings who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Boise win over the visiting Winchester Mountaineers, 5-4, in 12 innings. Josh Canas started for the home team against Sean Stevens. Sean Stevens earned accolades for his performance. The winner in relief was Antonio Hermosa. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0.

The Dread Kings relied on right fielder Ayden Huey for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 12th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Huey told the Boise Bulletin.
