The Alcoa Millionaires knocked off the Boise Dread Kings, 5-1, in Eastern AA action at Alcoa Grounds. Alcoa pitcher and Sedalia, Missouri, native Jason Wittmann had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Wittmann, now 1-0. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Lou Cremer finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Jared Staley had a big 2-run home run for the Millionaires in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Alcoa leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a slider from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jack Hall and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Millionaires on top, 3-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Staley said.

The victory makes Alcoa 2-1.
