Chiefs Deal Polecats 7-3 Loss
The Mescalero Chiefs outlasted the Libertyville Polecats, 7-3, in 11 innings. Keith Duke led the way, going 3-for-5 for Mescalero. Eric Sawyer, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. With the loss, Libertyville sinks to 0-2.

Mescalero used the timely hitting of Matt Evert to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Chiefs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Duke.
