Grasso Stars as Captains Top Aztecs, 3-1
|
Gran Estadio Azteca was the site of a competitive game between the Mexico City Aztecs and Tampa Bay Captains.
The Tampa Bay Captains topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 3-1, with right fielder Justin Grasso playing a big role. Grasso went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Captains in the win. The winning pitcher was top prospect Joe Bernard. He tossed 110 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. Justin Berardi was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
Tampa Bay took a 3-1 lead on Grasso's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off R.J. Eisen in the top of the seventh, propelled Tampa Bay to the win.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Grasso.
Losses have been few and far between for the Aztecs so far this season. Their record drops to 14-7.
