Trash Pandas Suffer 7-3 Road Loss
|
New York designated hitter Ben Callahan contributed significantly to his team's 7-3 win over the Toronto Trash Pandas. Callahan, who is tied for 9th in the AC in runs scored with 12, went 1 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Nightmare. Jose Contreras was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jason Strobel. Adam Holland got credit for the save for New York. It was his 4th of the year.
New York took a 7-2 lead on Callahan's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Andy Martinez in the bottom of the sixth, propelled New York to the win.
"Feels good to get the job done," Callahan said after the game.
The Trash Pandas drop to 7-13 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2021 season.
