Aztecs Reel Off Another Win
Danny Velasquez helped his team muscle past the Tampa Bay Captains, 9-5. In the game, the Mexico City shortstop was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs. Chris Booth picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 9 in 5.1 innings. The Captains fall to 9-11 and continue their sputtering start to the 2026 season.

Jeff Wise was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Mexico City. The 28-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jon Gunter. It was his 4th RBI of the season.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Velasquez told the Mexico City Bulletin. "Whatever it takes."
