The skies opened up and the rain fell at Ballpark of Detroit.
Getting offensive support from Pete Roan, the Maine Pines topped the Detroit Giants, 10-2. Roan went 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Pines. Ryan Henry, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3.
With Maine leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Roan hit a curveball from Efrain Gutierrez for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Pines ahead, 3-0.
"It was full throttle on our side," said Roan.
The Giants, now 7-12, continue their poor start.
