The Syracuse Scorpions topped the Hollywood Stars, 8-3, in American Conference action at Hollywood Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Syracuse pitcher and Lawrence, Indiana, native Ivan Medina. Syracuse, now 13-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Syracuse used the hitting of Chris Service to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Scorpions on top, 3-0. For the game, Service had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I thought we played some darn good baseball," said Scorpions manager Josh Gifford.
