Reapers Lose Big to Gladiators, 14-1
The Phoenix Gladiators got production from their entire lineup in an easy 14-1 win over the Carolina Reapers. Doing his part was designated hitter Brian Shultz. Shultz, who finished 4th in the NC in runs with 96 in 2019, went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Matt Dickson got credit for the save for Phoenix. It was his 1st of the year. With their winning streak at 5, the Gladiators have raced to a strong start this season.

In the first inning, Shultz had a 2-run double for Phoenix. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Gladiators on top, 3-0.

Carolina manager Felipe Arriaga summed up his team's performance in one word: "Godawful."
