5 Straight Wins for Marauders
|
The Philadelphia Marauders topped the Indianapolis Eagles, 5-3, in American Conference action at Marauders Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia pitcher Corey Gruver. The save went to Malcolm Freeman, number 2 for him. The Marauders keep rolling, raising their record to 13-6.
Carlos Barreto, who is tied for 9th in the AC in home runs with 4, took Indianapolis hurler Ray Dappen deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Marauders on top, 3-0. In all, Barreto had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Corey did what Corey does," said Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz.
