Good production from right fielder Julio Negron helped the Maine Pines topple the Detroit Giants, 10-8. Negron was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pines. The win went to Josh Flaten in relief, making him now 1-1. Chris Fitzsimmons took the loss for Detroit. Nick Calvache earned the save for Maine, his 1st of the year.

With two out in the top of the seventh, Mel Hernandez had a game-changing hit. The Pines second baseman slammed a run-scoring single off David Pruner, making the score 10-8, Maine.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Negron.

The Giants, 7-12, continue their poor start to the 2022 campaign.
