Oakland Loses, 4-2, to Cincinnati in 11
|
Cincinnati Royals starter Lee Morgan was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Oakland Invaders, 4-2, in 11 innings. Roberto Salazar earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With the loss, Oakland falls to 11-7.
Cincinnati won the game in part because of Andrew Baltzley. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Royals ahead, 3-2. For the game, Baltzley had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Cincinnati skipper Brad McBride.
