Pierce Socks 2 Home Runs in 6-5 Philadelphia Win
|
In a tight contest at Marauders Ballpark, the Philadelphia Marauders edged the Chicago Gangsters by the score of 6-5. Philadelphia left fielder Danny Pierce, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Philadelphia reliever Chris Jacoby picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Andy Bennett took the loss. The Gangsters, now 6-12, continue their sluggish start.
Philadelphia took a 6-5 lead on Chris Van Noort's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Van Noort hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Andy Bennett visibly frustrated.
After the game, Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
