Syracuse Scorpions starter John Froerer found his groove in his team's 4-2 win over the Detroit Giants. For the Giants, the loss makes their record 7-11.

Syracuse shortstop Tim Ferro helped the Scorpions go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Ferro hit a run-scoring single off Detroit pitcher Ryan Heyer.

Ferro attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
