The Detroit Giants defeated the Chicago Gangsters, 11-4, at Ballpark of Detroit. Leading the charge for Detroit was left fielder Keith Brosch. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Nick Turpen earned the win, while 25-year old right-handed pitcher Butch Saulters took the loss for Chicago. With the loss, Chicago sinks to 9-9.

Early in the game, center fielder Steve McLaughlin had a 2-run double for Detroit. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Giants on top, 2-0.

"We hit the ball hard," said Detroit manager Sean O'Leary. "Line drive after line drive."
