Stars Sunk by Dragons
|
The Dallas Dragons defeated the Hollywood Stars, 8-5, at Tennant Healthcare Ballpark. Dallas was led by 30-year old third baseman Rocky Hawke, who was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Picking up the save was Mike Braasch, his 1st. The win puts Dallas at 7-10.
Dallas right fielder Carlos Rodriguez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Dragons ahead, 6-4.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Dragons manager Edgar Puente.
