A good performance from center fielder Pat Kirchner helped the Cincinnati Royals defeat the Chicago Gangsters, 16-3. Kirchner was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Royals. Chicago falls to 0-2.

Rick Brown had a big grand slam home run for the Royals in the bottom of the second inning. With Cincinnati leading 4-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Foreman and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 8-1.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Brown.
