Marauders Squelch Gangsters Offense in Shutout Win
|
The rain did not keep Philadelphia and Chicago from finishing their game.
The Philadelphia Marauders went home winners at The Hideout, thanks in large part to starter William Deel. Deel stifled the Chicago Gangsters, enabling Philadelphia to grab the 4-0 win. Deel yielded no runs over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-0.
The Marauders benefited from an error in the top of the sixth inning. Philadelphia was leading 1-0 when Manuel Rosas hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Philadelphia in front, 2-0.
Philadelphia manager Danny Ordaz commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
Chicago now has a record of 4-13.
