Scorpions Pin 5-2 Loss on New York
The Scorpions grabbed a win, 5-2, at Nightmare Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from New York pitcher Allan Clemente. Clemente went 6.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. Dan Dean claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. His record stands at 1-1. Getting the save was Ken Allbaugh, his 2nd.

The Scorpions took the lead, 2-0, in the top of the fifth inning. Facing New York hurler Allan Clemente with two outs, Tim Kidd hit a run-scoring single.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Kidd, "one at-bat at a time."

Syracuse is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 2nd in 17 games.
