Whistlers Suffer One-Run Loss at Detroit
Ruben Cabriales impressed in the 5-4 Detroit win over Boston. Cabriales, who is tied for 5th in the AC in RBI with 13, was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lee Maher closed out the game, earning his 6th save. The Whistlers drop to 7-9, as their stumbling start to the 2026 season continues.

With Detroit leading 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Cabriales hit a run-scoring single off Boston hurler Ricky Garay. It was the 22nd hit of the season for Cabriales and put his team ahead, 5-2.

Cabriales expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
