Philadelphia Upended by Chicago, 5-2
|
The Chicago Gangsters picked up a win at The Hideout, dropping the Philadelphia Marauders, 5-2. Adrian Huffine, who finished 2nd in the AC in strikeouts with 289 in 2017, was the difference-maker. Huffine got the win, improving to 1-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Keith Kramer was credited with the save for Chicago, his 2nd of the season.
Jason Bear dealt the Marauders a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Chicago leading 3-2, Bear, who is tied for 9th in the AC in stolen bases with 4, hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run single.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Huffine told the Chicago News.
The Gangsters, with just their 4th win so far in 2026, have yet to catch fire.
