Syracuse Drops Another One, 6-2
The Boston Whistlers defeated the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-2, at Scorpion Stadium. Willie Kirkham, who led the AC in OPS with .983 in 2024, was a standout performer for Boston. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Now 1-14, the 2026 Scorpions have sputtered in the early going.

Boston used a well-timed hit by Jeff Beeson to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Whistlers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Syracuse manager Dustin Brewer. "It's just not paying off."
