The San Francisco Fire besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Hollywood right fielder Adam Cooper by beating the Stars, 9-6, at Hollywood Grounds. Cooper went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. The loss drops the Stars to 7-8.

The Fire got a lift from first baseman Malcolm Babcock, who in the top of the fourth stroked a full count fastball to right-center for a 2-run single. It was his 11th hit of the season and put the Fire ahead, 4-1.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Fire manager Zach Freeman.
