Syracuse Loses, 11-7, Despite Totten Exploits
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Boston Whistlers and Syracuse Scorpions.

The inspired effort of Syracuse right fielder Billy Totten was not enough to prevent a loss, 11-7, to the Boston Whistlers. Totten belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win was credited to former first round draft pick Josh Flaten in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Chris Dries took the loss.

Jeff Beeson, who finished 3rd in the AC in hits with 192 in 2020, drew 1 walk for Boston. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Beeson came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Whistlers in front, 8-7.

"Glad to go home with a win," said Beeson.

The defeat makes the Scorpions 5-10.
