The home crowd had a good time watching the Fountain Hills 23ers and Detroit Giants get after it.

The Detroit Giants dumped the Fountain Hills 23ers, 9-4, in large part due to left fielder Keith Brosch. On the day, Brosch went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Giants. Jason Gaiser came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

Early in the game, right fielder Edward Salgado had a 2-run double for Detroit. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Giants on top, 3-2.

Salgado expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."

Detroit is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.
