Cowels Lays Hammer Down in 5-0 Win
Boston turned a good effort from starter Josh Cowels into a win over the Syracuse Scorpions at Whislters Park. The Whistlers won the game, 5-0. The Scorpions, now 4-10, continue their sluggish start.

Cowels's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 12 strikeouts in 8.2 innings while allowing 4 hits. Cowels goes to 2-0 on the year with 27 strikeouts.

"Josh was missing bats all night," said Boston manager Ben Foster.
