Marauders Do In Giants, 5-3

The skies opened up and the rain fell at Marauders Ballpark.
The Philadelphia Marauders defeated the Detroit Giants, 5-3, in American Conference action at Marauders Ballpark. Austin Compton pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Vince Mellon was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 3rd of the season.
Eric Langley, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, took Detroit hurler Tony Wooten deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Marauders on top, 4-3. In all, Langley had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Compton after the game.
Philadelphia is now 8-6.
