Shiners Beaten By Fire, 4-3
|
The San Francisco Fire and Charleston Shiners completed their game despite the inclement weather.
San Francisco beat Charleston at Ballpark of Charleston, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to third baseman Severo Salcido. He went 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jonathan Allen picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-0. Jason Martin got credit for the save for San Francisco. It was his 1st of the year.
Salcido had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run double. The Fire went on to win.
"We came in and did what we needed to do," said San Francisco manager George Barcellos.
The loss drops the Shiners to 1-1.
