The Charleston Sea Dogs picked up a win at Leatherback Park, knocking off the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 6-4. Starting pitcher Jonathan Brey was a big reason why. Brey picked up the win for Charleston, going 6 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Daytona Beach, at 2-11, is off to a dreadful start in 2025.

Charleston relied on the bat of Juan Ortiz to get the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 3-1. For the game, Ortiz had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
