The Boston Whistlers trumped the Chicago Gangsters, 10-3, at Whislters Park. Boston shortstop Evan Stowe was terrific. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Danny Offen, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held Chicago to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Earning his 1st save of the year was Dusty Thomas.

Willie Kirkham hit a 2-run home run off Bobby Nowlin in the bottom of the third, which put the Whistlers ahead, 4-2. In addition to the homer, Kirkham had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Kirkham said.

The Gangsters fall to 5-8 and continue their sputtering start to the 2025 season.
