Syracuse wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ivan Medina, falling to the Boston Whistlers, 6-2. Medina threw 7.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. Boston, now 5-8, is off to a slow start.

In the top of the 2nd, Boston took the lead on a 2-run single by Carlos Herrera. At the time, the Whistlers were trailing 1-0, but Herrera's hit with two outs against Syracuse pitcher Ivan Medina put them in front, 2-1.
