The Austin Desperados had to overcome a fine effort from Halifax pitcher Adam D'Alberto to win, 4-3, in 10 innings at Dell Diamond. D'Alberto went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Bob Baucke picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Antonio Enriquez suffered the loss. Austin, now 8-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Desperados got a clutch hit from first baseman Jim Sykora. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Desperados.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Halifax manager David Morris said, following the tough loss.
