The Carolina Reapers could not turn a fine performance from right fielder Mike Green into a win. Instead, the San Francisco Fire prevailed, 9-6. Green was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mike Dineen snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Jerrod Notaro suffered the loss. The win has San Francisco at 2-0.

San Francisco went up, 8-6, on Rich Tangorra's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Tangorra hit in the top of the seventh, left Carolina pitcher Vinny Narvaez feeling irked.
