Fountain Park was the site of a competitive game between the New York Nightmare and Fountain Hills 23ers.

Miguel Leon, who is a two-time All-Star, was locked in. The right-hander led the Fountain Hills 23ers to a 5-3 win against the New York Nightmare at Fountain Park. The winner was Leon. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Jose Contreras. Nick Dragon picked up the save for Fountain Hills, his 1st of the year.

The 23ers got a big at-bat from left fielder Mike Maughan. For the game, Maughan went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Fountain Hills a 3-1 lead.

"Miguel was dictating to their hitters," said Fountain Hills manager Efren Nieman.

Now 4-9, the Nightmare have gotten off to a poor start.
