Invaders Squeeze By Indianapolis, 3-2
|
Howard Terminal was the site of a tense game between the Indianapolis Eagles and Oakland Invaders.
Isaiah Sanders had a strong outing for the Oakland Invaders against the Indianapolis Eagles at Howard Terminal. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The winner was Tom Paolucci in relief. His record improves to 1-0. J.R. Mitchell took the loss.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Mike Raia came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Indianapolis pitcher J.R. Mitchell, he hit a 0-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Oakland on top, 3-2.
Raia called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The win takes Oakland to 5-7.
