Winchester Breaks Through for First Win in World Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Winchester Mountaineers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading London Tigers, winning, 3-1, at Ballpark of Oklahoma City. Mountaineers left-hander Denny Mason threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Mountaineers to 2-1 in the best-of-7 World Series.

Kasey Miller had a direct impact on the outcome. Miller contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put Winchester up, 3-1.

"Denny pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Winchester manager Mitchell Young.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ballpark of Oklahoma City in London.
