When the games really matter, the San Diego Fleet put on their best show, beating the Charleston Sea Dogs by a final score of 7-6. Carlos Miranda was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. San Diego now leads Charleston 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.

San Diego got a knockout punch from Tony Thomas. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Thomas said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium in San Diego.
