Heathens Win, Move to Within 1 Game of World Series
|
The Halifax Heathens moved to within one game of the World Series, downing the Boston Whistlers on the road at Whislters Park by a score of 6-3. Heathens left-hander Andy Swift had a strong outing. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Heathens a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Championship Series.
In the top of the fourth, Halifax right fielder Andy Brewer had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and one out, Brewer stroked a 2-run home run to center. It made the score 4-1, Halifax. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"That's what this team is about," said Brewer, "picking each other up."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whislters Park in Boston.
